Socius BJJ Competition Team.
Coach-led, results-focused training for adults and kids ready to test their game on the biggest mats in Manitoba and beyond — IBJJF, NAGA, and the Manitoba Open.
Adults & Kids. One comp room.
The Socius Competition Team is a coach-led program for serious adults and kids who want to compete at IBJJF, NAGA, Manitoba Open, and other regional and international tournaments. Training is structured around the calendar — peaking athletes for their target events while keeping the rest of the room sharp.
Adults and kids share one mission: train hard, train smart, and represent Socius well. Both groups get coach-led sessions, fight prep, corner support at events, and a training environment that reflects how high-level matches are actually won.

How we train.
Comp class isn't just hard rolls. It's a structured curriculum aimed at the things that actually decide matches — pressure, position, conditioning, and feedback.
Technical Sparring
Live rounds with coach-imposed constraints — pressure, pace, and target positions that mirror tournament scenarios.
Position-Specific Drills
Start in the spots matches are won or lost — guard retention, passing, mount, back, and scramble exits.
Comp-Format Conditioning
Match-length intervals built to peak your gas tank for 5, 6, and 8-minute matches — gi and no-gi.
Video Review
Match film breakdowns with coaches — what worked, what didn't, and the exact adjustments for next time.
